So my day started out

So my day started out at with me struggling to breath and sneazing like crazy because of my allergies. Thank god Claritin is now an over the counter drug. So I went out to Fred Meyers to pick some up, then off to Home Depot to gather bolts for my project of the day. Lifting the rear of my truck.

All went well taking the the suspension apart in the back. Got it up, took off the U bolts, put c-clamps on the springs, removed the center pin bolt, and then took off the c-clamps. Here is where I noticed the first problem. Well, it was one I had anticipated for, so I was prepared. The existing clamps on the ends of the springs that hold them together have to be removed for the dual stage Rancho add-a-leaves I was using. I put a cutoff wheel on my Dremel and proceded to cut them off. That part went fine, I was then able to take the leaves apart. But what I didn't anticipate for was for the clamp to be riveted to the leaf with a ~1/2in rivet. Problem number one, how to get it off. Finnaly took a half inch drill bit to the thing and then popped it off with a sledge. Great! First problem solved. Next to get the two AAL's in the spring pack and put it all back together. Sounds easy enough right? Well, took me a good part of 3 hours to figure out a way to get them together and aligned so I could get the center bolt through them. Once that was done, I then had to jack the axle back up. Problem number 2 popped up at this point, the center pin that I just put into the leaves wasn't lining up with the hole in the axle. Took me a good hour to jack up the axle to the right position, and then figguring a way to hang myself off the truck so I could put both feet on the axle and push it forward. Finnaly got that done, cut off the excess center pin bolt off with the Dremel, and then put the U bolts back on. By this time it is now about 8:30. I had enough for one night, put the truck back down on the ground, backed it back into the garage, and came in and took a shower. Ahh nice to feel clean again. I was covered in metal bits from the cut off wheel. I have pictures I have taken, will post those once I am done with the rear lift, crank up the front, and install the Revtek diff drop kit.

Oh, can't forget, I only have the rear wheel lugs barely tightened. Don't drive anywhere.

Other then that, all is fine and dandy. I start my new shift at work tomorrow, which is Sun - Wed, 8AM to 7PM. I won't have to answer phones anymore either, starting a new chat support program. Should be a nice departure from the phones...
