I have notice a lot of callers having a problem where their Outlook Express preview pane will be blank. Outlook Express will show the new email in the inbox, but after clicking on the message, the preview pane remains empty. There is an article in the Microsoft KB that describes the situation, but the steps in it do not always fix the issue. Here is another thing you can try to fix this problem:
- Close all open programs.
- Click Start -> Run.
- Type the command, "regsvr32 inetcomm.dll", without the quotes.
- Hit enter on your keyboard or click the OK button.
You should get a succeeded message, click OK on that message. Now go back into Outlook Express and see if it worked. I have tried this on everything from Win2kPro, WinXPHome/WinXPPro, and WinME, and it has worked for all of them. Good luck!
